Christ the Vine Community Church
is a small, friendly church made up of people from different backgrounds
and at different stages of their spiritual journeys. Trying to make
sense of the things going on in your life? or in the world? At Christ
the Vine we believe that a personal encounter with Jesus Christ
will give you a new life perspective and equip you for whatever
the world throws at you! Come along to a Sunday morning service
or Twigs and find out what happens; or pop into Café Vine,
you would be very welcome. If you would like to be involved in other
ways you will find plenty of opportunities on this website. If you
want to know more please follow links or contact us – we don’t
The Sunday service at Christ the Vine begins at 10.45am. The format
of the service varies from week to week but it is always informal
with the accent on worship with prayers, singing, and a talk that
helps us to grow in our Christian life and witness. Our time of
fellowship together continues with refreshments and conversation.
Music Group: Our
Sunday service is enhanced by the music group. Currently it consists
of two guitars, a clarinet, a piano and drums. They would welcome
more musicians to join them.
This happens on the first Sunday of the month and is a lively, informal
service when the children stay with the adults for the whole service.
The aim is that there should be something for everyone at this service.
Twigs: Twigs is
the children’s own time of worship and learning. Usually they
leave early on in the service to go to their own room with leaders
who have lots of interesting and enjoyable things for them to do,
such as games, quizzes and crafts.
This is the service in which we do as Jesus instructed us by remembering
his death & passion, sometimes called ‘The Lord’s
Supper’, ‘The Eucharist’ or ‘Mass’
in other churches. This is usually on the second and fourth Sundays
of the month but can vary.
Service Time @ Café
Vine: This occasional service is on the 5th Sunday of the
month. We have tables and chairs instead of rows of seats. Self-service
coffee/tea & eatables are available throughout the service.
The service is often inter-active with aspects that all can join
in with – although no one need feel they have to.
Adventure in Prayer:
We meet at 10.15am every Sunday for 15 minutes of prayer prior to
worship. The emphasis is on seeking God’s guidance for our
lives, both as individuals and as a church family.
