An RSS feed is a special kind of
web page which modern browsers can use to automatically update information
streams. You could consider it as a "self-updating bookmark".
If your copy of Internet Explorer
shows this
symbol on the toolbar, then you can subscribe to feeds. Other browsers
show the symbol elsewhere.
Firefox shows the
symbol in the address bar, but only when there's a feed on the page.
It doesn't cost anything
to "subscribe" to the RSS feed, but your browser will
then automatically seek and display links to newly posted information.
In other words, we can notify you
of items and events without you having to go to the website and
look for them.
Unfortunately, older browser versions
may only dislplay the page code, which means that it's time for
you to update if you want to benefit from this service.
